Cut work & Applique using the Soldering Iron
Using a metal template, there was a lot of cutting here of the background fabric using the Soldering Iron.
Using layered pieces of polyesters I cut out the various floral shapes, then appliqued them to the background. The leaves were cut freehand using the soldering iron and finished off with mark making (veins) once again using a fine soldering iron tip. The piece was finished off with dyed silk yarns which were attached using couching hand stitch. Enjoy!
