"Whimsy"- A taste of Miro & Kandinsky & Me

Reading some of my Art books, I have become over time fascinated by the paintings of both Miro and Kandinsky. Each artist has his own distinctive style. Miro's work is quite quirky, he used repeated and unique shapes not just in one painting, but again and again in subsequent paintings.  I commenced planning for my piece by borrowing some of these shapes and symbols, and some from Kandinsky as well. In addition I added sympathetic shapes of my own. The resultant design, like both artists' work, is an abstract. The addition of embroidery stitch in my own style, connects the shapes and unifies the piece.
