Soldering iron work
A more formal piece this time. Good design is often achieved through the use of repetition of one shape. Here I selected the striking Fleur-de-lis shape. Using a fine tipped Soldering Iron I cut the shapes from organza and metallic fabrics. I also made use of the negative pieces. I layered them all, overlapping many tmes to create the feeling of depth, then I attached them to the background fabric using a series of fine holes made with the soldering iron. This action melts and holds all the layers together.
