Magic Carpet...detail

Layers of various coloured metallic fabrics topped with one layer of black organza were free motion machined to a felt background and then heat gunned. Small pieces of hand dyed silk organza were later layed on top and using metallic thread and free motion machining, stitch was added. More heat was applied and the silk sunk into the metallic fabrics, but of course it was not damaged being a natural fibre.
