Soldering Iron work only, no scissors, no machining and no glue!

Close up view of iron's marks

Soldering Iron work on synthetic Furnishing Fabrics is fascinating for the following reasons.

Using just the hot tip of the iron I have been able to cut out various shapes with the aid of templates. The hot tip not only seals the edges of the fabric as it cuts, but it also prevents fraying.

This fabric I have chosen here, is excellent too at revealing the burnt and decorative marks made by the hot tip. In addition these marks can be used to 'meld' the fabric layers together at the same time.

All this completed with one tool, a soldering iron!  Just like magic!
